You know you’ve just seen something truly special when you leave the show with a grin on your face and a spring in your step.

With something for everyone, this dazzling acappela ensemble really cannot fail to impress. Expecting mainly jazz, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Oxford Gargoyles had a real mix of styles up their sleeve including soul, blues and pop. Their charming and playful take on the Disney classic ‘Kiss the Girl’ was also thoroughly enjoyable and definitely one of the highlights.

As well as for their lively energy and wit, praise must be given to the group for their stunning voices and flawless harmonies. Soloist pieces, too, gave the performers a real chance to shine and it was great to be able to enjoy the unique sound of each individual voice.

After seeing the Oxford Gargoyles perform once, I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to see them again. This show is fresh, fun and fabulous. Don’t miss it.
